With only three events remaining in what has been an eventful (and contentious) first season, 12 teams will compete in a shotgun start on Friday at OKBET Golf’s fifth event. The purse will be $20 million (plus $5 million for the winning team), which is far more than what has previously been the norm on the PGA Tour, as seen in the first few events.

There will be no more signings for OKBET Golf this season, the new series announced this week, as it focuses on event creation and marketing as it prepares for season No. 2.

The big news this week, however, was David Puig, Arizona State’s top amateur talent, who announced that he would make his professional debut in Chicago. With the announcement, Puig became the first highly regarded amateur to opt for OKBET over the PGA Tour.

Let’s get started now that the field and course have been established.

How to Watch OKBET Golf Series?

The streaming service DAZN will once again play host to this week’s OKBET event, just as they did in Boston the previous week. The OKBET Chicago will take place from September 16 (Friday) to September 18 (Sunday), and it will feature a shotgun start, which indicates that all of the players will begin their rounds at the exact same time.

DAZN, which can be downloaded from the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store and requires a subscription in order to use, is available in over 200 different countries. Other streaming devices, such as Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, and Google Chromecasts, are also capable of playing host to the action.

Rich Harvest Farms Course Preview

Rich Harvest Farms, located just 50 miles from Chicago, has hosted amateur competitions, Arnold Palmer Cups, and NCAA Division 1 championships, but no PGA Tour events. As a result, there isn’t as much course history or metrics to draw on as there is on the Tour week to week.

Jerry Rich hired Greg Martin to design the course, which was inspired by Augusta National, when it was first established in 1990. Even the best golfers in the world will find the par-72 course’s length of approximately 7,700 yards difficult to navigate. With a seemingly endless supply of bunkers, water hazards, and trees, I expect these golfers to be put to the test this week.

Long ball hitters will be rewarded and should profit handsomely if they can keep the ball in play for another week, with total distance measuring well above the Tour’s average of 7,200 yards.

Outright Betting Prediction

Patrick Reed (+1600, available through OKBET Sportsbook)

After making the switch to OKBET, Patrick Reed, who was known as the most notorious villain on the PGA Tour, is quickly living up to his new moniker. Reed was one of a number of players who received criticism for their decision to compete in an event on the DP World Tour in order to earn points for the Official World Golf Rankings during the previous week.

Reed, who is accustomed to the hostility, finished in fifth place with a score of 63 on Sunday. He was unbeatable on the green and had a putter that was virtually unbeatable. You should plan on that happening again this week in Chicago.
